When Journalism Goes Awry, Over and Over Again

I see no system-wide fix. Journalists themselves need to resolve this. They should look in a mirror and reflect on their very real influence. Police are taught that once you fire your pistol there is no taking back the bullet. Reporters must remember their words can have the power of a bullet and consider the consequences when they fire their journalistic guns.

Why does the media continue to post and repeat the Tweets of #Trump? Is it really to inform the public, surely they know we can read it for ourselves…

After the picnic is over, does one keep the grill going because the aroma is pleasing?

Tennesse is on Fire – Please #Pray

Gatlinburg, Tennessee (CNN)Fanned by strong winds and the Southeast’s worst drought in nearly a decade, at least 14 wildfires burned in and around Gatlinburg, Tennessee, forcing evacuations from the popular tourist destination and nearby communities.

“If you’re a person of prayer, we could use your prayers,” Gatlinburg Fire Chief Greg Miller said Monday evening as crews battled wind gusts of up to 70 mph.

I Don’t Want No Hair Cut

I’ve seen girls beat other girls, and a group of girls beat up on one little girl. I’ve seen some horrific movies but this little boy forced to get a #haircut and physically held down by 5 adult men and one yelling mother had to be the most painful video of  2016 second only to the election of Donald Trump.

So very sad not one adult in the room had the presence of mind to question the health of the boy.  He may have #autism and #hyperacusis in his ears which makes getting a hair cut intolerable.

I wonder will the little boy ever recover from his tragic ordeal in a place where Black men have been known to frequent not only for haircuts but to find out the latest local news, to gather around their favorite “liar” teller – I mean “story” teller, LOL.  A place where a man could hang out all day and not get into a “whole” lot of trouble, a place where relationships, employment, and the economic status could be discussed…

A place where you sometimes want to go, where everybody knows your name,  and they’re always glad you came, you want to be where you can see the troubles are all the same… The neighborhood barbershop was a place where you would want to be where everybody knew your name and no one person is any greater than anyone else.

What Would You Do With $3 Million Dollars

The Secret Service would pay the Trump Organization to lease the space.

The Secret Service is required to protect the first family wherever they go. When President Obama or Vice President Biden have gone on vacation, security will pay to rent nearby homes or domiciles to set up security and continue to monitor the first and second families.

Should these negotiations go through, taxpayers would likely be paying the president-elect’s corporation to lease the two floors. The Post reported that a lease deal could cost more than $3 million based on current rates at Trump Tower. Two of the floors, which are 3,000- to 5,000-square-foot spaces, are currently marketed at $105 per square-foot

Let’s look at what $3 “other” million dollars could satisfy…

School Supplies

3-million-school-suppliesAccording to the data, 48 out of 115 LEAs or 42 percent of all LEAs spend between $125,000 – $150,000 to educate a high school graduate. Or the minimum #3MillionDollars worth of school supplies for Inner City Schools could have been bought considering according to the New York Times, “It is hard to find anyone more passionate about the idea of steering public dollars away from traditional public schools than Betsy DeVos, Donald J. Trump’s pick as the cabinet secretary overseeing the nation’s education system.”

New Door Locks

According to The Slot, “After trying—and failing—to disenfranchise black voters on election day with strict voter identification requirements, Republican North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory is now refusing to concede to Democratic challenger Roy Cooper, who is ahead in the count by a small but significant (and growing) margin of 6,600 votes.”

If all else fails, #3MillionDollars could purchase a whole of combination door locks from The Home Depot for $99 plus $12.00 Protection Plan for the next election.
